Best place to stay in Nathdwara – Justa Brij Bhoomi
Nathdwara came out as a perfect stop over on my Rajasthan road trip. I was travelling from Udaipur to Jodhpur and decided to halt at “Justa Brij Bhoomi, Nathdwara” for two nights. It was a perfect break for my 4200Kms Rajasthan road trip. The stay at the resort provided for much needed relaxation in the middle of the road trip. The chronicles of my Rajasthan Road Trip continues in this blog post as well. Hope you enjoy this post as well!
Why choose Nathdwara as a stop over?
The reasons to add Nathdwara in the itinerary were compelling. First and foremost, I wished to visit the Lord Krishna “Srinathji” Temple, built in 18th century. The divine form of Shrinathji is said to be self-manifested at this hindu temple, which has a magnificent architecture. Secondly, I like the idea of staying at the resort and leaving in the noon to visit Kumbhalgarh fort (enroute) and proceed to Jodhpur. Last, but not the least, I wanted to stay in this amazing palace like property, Justa Brij Bhoomi, Nathdwara.
Why Justa Brij Bhoomi is the perfect place to stay?
I was looking forward to a relaxing stay and therefore, I wanted to stay at Brij Bhoomi resort. The best part of this resort is the location of the resort. It is located at top of a hill overlooking the Banas river, around one km from Srinathji Temple. This is a secluded property spread over an area of five acres. The approach road of the road is steep and it feels, as if you are going to a heritage palace. The architecture of Justa Brij Bhoomi is similar to most of the palaces of Rajasthan.
First Impression at Brij Bhoomi Resort
I reached at the resort around 8 pm after driving around 80 Kms from Udaipur. While I completed the check-in formalities, hotel staff gave me this refreshing welcome drink with flavours of paan and Gulukund, speciality of Brij Bhoomi. The welcome drink raised my expectation for the dinner.
I checked-in and straight away proceeded for dinner as I wanted to sleep early. Naivedyam is the pure vegetarian restaurant of the resort. I like the idea of buffet more than à la carte as it was quite reasonably priced. I must say Naivedyam lived up to my expectation. Drinking and smoking is also prohibited in the Justa Brij Bhoomi, Nathdwara. Rajasthani and gujrati cuisine is the speciality here. Mix veg soup was tempting. Ker Sangri , Gatta curry and paneer bhurji were really good and delicious. Gulkand paan was the perfect end of the meal, as you want the taste to stay with you for some time.
Rooms and Ambiance
The resort consists of 30 luxury rooms and 2 luxury suites which are beautifully designed. Rooms and lobbies are very spacious and beautifully designed. What I liked the most in the room was the window seat under jharoka.
The king-size bed and the furnishing of the room were impressive. There was an private balcony attached to my room as well.
Bathroom was immaculate, huge and equipped with quality toiletries and cosmetics. They had all modern facilities of a luxury resort.
Darshan at SrinathJi Temple
The reception staff were kind enough to inform about “Darshan” timings of the temple in advance. Please note temple is not open for “darshan” at all times, but in slots during the day. The resort provides complimentary pick and drop service close to the gate of temple in golf cart at all darshan timings from morning to evening. From the drop off point, the temple is just five minutes walk which is easily doable. I did the gwal darshan at 9:15 a.m and it really felt special to me. There are different types of seva available at temple which includes paan seva, phool seva and others.
Breakfast after Darshan
Buffet for breakfast is included in room tariff for everyone. Breakfast was fresh and appetizing that included freshly squeezed pineapple juice, soft idli with hot sambar, aloo ki subji with puri, stuffed paranthas and much more. Poha was perfectly seasoned and I had a sumptuous breakfast.
Ambiance and the facilities
After breakfast, I relaxed at the resort for the entire day. I was impressed with the facilities offered by the resort, especially the infinity pool. The infinity pool had a marvellous view of the Nathdwara town and its greenery. There is a separate children’s pool for your naughty kids. Resort offers Gymnasium for fitness enthusiast and spa treatment along with yoga sessions. Staff is courteous and service is great. In the evening, I went to Dwarkadhish Kankroli temple for a visit. It was a pleasure to feed fishes there.
The lush green surroundings, panoramic view of nandsamand dam and Aravalli range, marvellous interior and exterior, presence of all modern amenities, huge lawns and lip smacking food makes this resort the best hotel in Nathdwara to experience the town’s spirituality and heritage. This serene and secluded resort is perfect for destination weddings in the holy town of Nathdwara. I will look forward to visit Nathdwara again and stay at this beautiful resort. If you are planning a trip to Nathdwara, I will recommend Justa Brij Bhoomi, Nathdwara to you. Please find more details on tariff and booking on their website.
On the way to Jodhpur and more
The next morning, I left Nathdwara and continued on my 4200 Kms long Rajasthan road trip. My next stop was Jodhpur and the plan was to visit “Kumbhalgarh Fort” enroute. However, there was a huge surprise awaiting us at Kumbhalgarh, that made us change our plans. Stay tuned to my next instalment of the chronicles of my Rajasthan Road Trip.
